I am the Grinch of Valentines Day!

I despise Valentines Day. When ever I say that, most people respond with “Well you shouldn’t, you have a boyfriend!” I guess it is true that most single people hate Valentines Day because they are “alone” but that’s not the reason for me. I hate Valentines Day because I feel like there shouldn’t just be ONE DAY every year that you go out of your way to tell someone how much you love them. Erich and I are far from perfect, but I think that we make it known often how much we love and appreciate each other. Valentines Day is SUCH a Hallmark Holiday (like most holidays now!) and it’s all about “what you got.” Me? I could care less. There is nothing I hate more than seeing singing, dancing stuffed animals in boxers, holding stuffed roses lining isles of EVERY story I walk into. (Like that ridiculous Gorilla who sings “Wild Thing” that has been out EVERY YEAR for decades it seems!) I hate flashy boxes of chocolates with stupid sayings. I hate how it is SO CLICHÉ to get engaged on Valentines Day….jeez people, get CREATIVE! I just really, really hate Valentines Day. I am going to make an effort this year not be such a Grinch about it (though it may be too late!) I got the supplies to make little mini cupcake bites for my family and co-workers (pictured in the entry about Junior’s Birthday party.) That night, I plan on STAYING INSIDE….maybe watching a movie with Erich…but likely doing homework.
